  Not the type of person to write a bad review, but if something is bothering me for over a week, it is safe to say I need to speak up. Seems that Capital City Bank is a typical Fee Bank disguised as a local hometown bank. My father passed away and his checking and savings accounts were frozen while it was in probate. CCB not only continued draining the accounts in monthly fees, they ADDED a new additional $10/month fee to EACH of the accounts because there is no activity. I explained that of course there is no activity, the owner has died and the account is frozen. They told me they are frozen for the family but not for the bank. I asked them if they could at least stop the extra $20 a month. They said, "No, their hands are tied." Not sure what that means since it is their bank and they can override their own bank policy, do the right thing and waive the fees. It feels like they are taking advantage of people after a family loss as they are going through the court system, knowing they cannot close the account and take the business elsewhere. It really feels like they are stealing from a dead man - probably because they definitely are. They are charging a dead man around $40 a month to literally do nothing.
